Blues vs. Browns

Grandma was my first partner ever, and playing with her against Grandpa and Craig helped make me the second best card-player in the family (The student never surpassed the teacher). Let’s be honest, the blues rarely lost, no matter what the game.

In my mind, Grandma and I are the original blues, and no one can convince me otherwise. The games may have changed, but my favorite partner never has…

Fellowship

Fellowship is one of many words that instantly make me think of Grandma and Grandpa. It is the fellowship that I have shared with them throughout my life; mostly while playing cards, which mean the most to me. People chuckle when I say that the fellowship is more important than the actual thing we are doing, but in life, the most important impact you can have in someone’s life is by having the type of fellowship that Grandma and Grandpa share with so many people. My ability to meet and find common ground within which to share moments with people in any situation is a direct result of the fellowship that we have shared.

Grandma and Grandpa

This is a book for Grandma’s birthday, and it is supposed to be about her. However, in my mind, there is no Grandma without Grandpa, and no Grandpa without Grandma. This is the most important aspect of your impact in my life. I try to treat Emilia like Grandpa treats Grandma, and support her like Grandma supports Grandpa. I will strive to raise Olivia and any children that follow as the two of you raised your children.

I love you both so much.
